Easy readJul 04, 2010 This book is full of wonderful ideas to help get you started on becoming green, broken into sections and easy, to the point instructions. Loaded with websites for those who want more in depth information and purchasing options. Highly recommended.
Lovin' the Green Girl Revolution!Jun 30, 2010 I call this book my 'bible'. It is so helpful when you are trying to make a difference in your everyday life. It gives you helpful tips on how to become eco-friendly and not waste things just to waste them.
It really opens your eyes and allows you to see exactly how the human race has polluted the planet and ways you can make an impact.
I buy this book for my girlfriends and for anyone who has the slightest interest in treading lightly.
Great buy (especially if you buy it used)!
Now that being green has enough glamour....Apr 27, 2010 From the book: "I always used to think that reusing plastic bags was a bit creepy. I'd see those touchy/feely types in Birkenstocks pulling out a dirty canvas bag at the grocery store - ugh. Things have changed. It is now supercool to be seen toting your used bags."
This pretty much sums up the book. If you're one of those "touchy/feely" types, chances are you've already been doing most of the things in this book, and aren't looking for the hippest new 'green' baby clothes labels. In fact, I could replace this whole book with a single website, [...], if you want handmade baby's clothing, adult clothing, reusable bags, vegan makeup (you don't want to know why most makeup isn't considered animal-product free), organic housewares, even food products.
But if you're all about trends and want to know where to spend your money without doing any research yourself, by all means this book is for you. I am of course glad that eco-consciousness is becoming more popular. It's just sad that this book, like any other trend, happily mocks its predecessors for not bothering with the ridiculous, overpriced, patented goooorgeousness.
DecentMar 16, 2010 This book has basic info and some good tips but doesn't always give enough choices for where to get eco items that don't cost a lot of money. Being Eco should be available to everyone not only to people with money. I did like the homemade cleaning ideas but I haven't tried them yet. The book could have been half as long and still made the points. It is great that it covers multiple areas of the home but some areas are not covered fully or with enough supportive research to back up the claims.
Little things can make a big differenceMar 15, 2010 This book is a great way to start taking steps to living a more socially responsible lifestyle, using environmentally friendly products without sacrifing much, and gaining a healthier lifestyle.
